Gays in the Belize Defence Force
There has been a debate for some time in the USA on whether gays should be allowed in the military, especially in combat roles. Just recently the Senate has permitted this and it was signed into law by Obama. Some 40 countries do have gays in the armed forces with the USA ( until recently) and Turkey being note worthy exceptions.US military opposition was strong:
In Latin America, Uruguay and Argentina have no gay restrictions, nor does Columbia. I could not determine from internet searching whether Guatemala or Belize allow this. A few days ago I wrote an article on what might happen if the two countries (Belize and Guatemala) went at it when the Brits leave. I think apart from hiring mercenaries, forming a gay battalion in the BDF would probably win the day. Here is why:
These guys were the nastiest, most brutal warriors ever created. In 480 BC they held off 250,000 Persians for 3 days with a force of 300. Most were gay or bi sexual which was common at the time.
Now consider a bunch of macho Guat soldiers crossing the border at Melchor and this is what they run into:
This is a used Russian T- 34 bought in Serbia by a Belize businessman and sold to the BDF. It inspired the recent formation of the BDF 1st Armored Gay/Lesbian Regiment. How would the Guatemalans react to this? They would laugh hysterically and be caught off guard allowing BDF regulars to finish them off.
During WW II a group of British soldiers reputedly won a battle by reading a very bad joke to the Germans who died from laughing. The joke was:”My dog has no nose. Then how does he smell? Answer : Awful!”

After the above tank attack a surprise strike by a squadron of these aircraft leads to a tactical victory over the Guatemalan 6th rifle division at Peten:

But, thats not all. A lesbian company would throw the enemy completely off guard and they could be easily be swept from the battlefield. I cannot picture Guatemalan soldiers firing at the newly formed 12th BDF lesbian Brigade:

After a coastal attack on Puerto Barrios by this BDF ship of the 2nd Gay Naval command,
the out maneuvered Guatemalan army sues for peace and retreats back to Flores where an accord is signed and peace restored:
Soldier of the 1st BDF Lesbian Brigade (L) hugs a Guatemalan regular at the final peace talks in Guatemala City. The Guatemalan military in this fictitious scenario would most likely form their own gay division( Primera división acorazada homosexual guatemalteca) in order to maintain the balance of power and stabilize the region.

The library offers an afterschool Homework Help session, Monday through Thursday, beginning at four o'clock. This is a great opportunity for children and young teens to work together and with experienced librarians on their school work and to have access to many informational books! In addition to the Homework Help sessions, the library offers free children's yoga classes every Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. This is open to children ages 7 to 11. A free adult's yoga classes will begin in early 2011. In the library, printing and photocopying opportunities are available, for $0.25 to $0.50 per page. Glue sticks and fomis are also available for sale. The sales are for fundraising for the library.
